Phil Ivey in between black Friday

When the saga of Black Friday began, there was another back leash against the government of America from Pokerstars. The reason for this action was that they were registered in foreign country and hence would ignore the rule of law by Kentucky. The casino card game has made United States of America famous with exceptional players coming in the game over the years.  There have been lots of clamor for the American government to make online poker gambling legal by millions of fans and lovers of poker. This noble request was crashed by black Friday on the 15th of April, 2012 when the biggest online poker platforms were charged that is up to $3 billion against the big poker players’ sites like PokerStarts, and Full Tilt Poker and then AbsolutePoker.

Where was Las Vegas in all these court actions? Las Vegas has hosted Joe Cada and would always welcome him to their state for World Series of Poker main Event. What this means is that the state is a force in poker and should have a major discussion in any problem of poker.  Kentucky is not as hot as Las Vegas in Poker but has made a significant impact in safe guarding their citizens against frauds.  Protection of citizens from sites that would not be truthful to themselves cannot be tolerated by Kentucky.

A lot of people and poker platforms that had been caught do not have a good story to tell because of the punishment that was melted on them. Today, players like Phil Ivey would not allow the affected online sites that were operating in United States of America from not getting their own by rejecting them and disassociating with them. The reason for this was because of money laundering which eventually stopped the dreams of many Americans from making online poker their hobby.

Where is Phil Ivey?

It was sad news last year, 2011 on a Monday evening when PokerNews broke the news that Phil Ivey would not be playing the 2011 World Series of Poker.   Most of his fans did not take it lightly they were expecting him to win the grand price at Las Vegas. Not only that he did not play at the prestigious tournament, he had filed a lawsuit against Tiltware, the software and marketing company for Full Tilt Poker.  This was when it became clear that the decision of the player has more to do with Full Tilt Poker and its marketing company. The lawyer that Ivey hired was David Z. Chesnoff to win his case against the Tiltware.

Nightly Turbo did a decent job in putting this lawsuit in a nutshell: “Ivey is suing for injunctive relief, declaratory relief, and damages. The first cause of action, injunctive relief, is focused on Ivey’s non-compete contract and making in unenforceable. In the second cause of action, breach of contract, it says the Plaintiff (Ivey) has been damaged by lost business opportunity, lost income, and damage to his personal and professional reputation all in an amount that exceeds $150,000,000.”

With that said, here is Tiltware’s statement in its entirety:

“Contrary to his sanctimonious public statements, Phil Ivey’s meritless lawsuit is about helping just one player – himself. In an effort to further enrich himself at the expense of others, Mr. Ivey appears to have timed his lawsuit to thwart pending deals with several parties that would put money back in players’ pockets. In fact, Mr. Ivey has been invited — and has declined — to take actions that could assist the company in these efforts, including paying back a large sum of money he owes the site. Tiltware doubts Mr. Ivey’s frivolous and self-serving lawsuit will ever get to court. But if it does, the company looks forward to presenting facts demonstrating that Mr. Ivey is putting his own narrow financial interests ahead of the players he professes to help.”

The question is will Phil Ivey be playing in 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event?

The bubble had to burst

When you’re thinking about having fun sitting in your own home you have to think about online poker because it was one of the most popular entertainment spectacles in the United States. There were over two million people playing from the comforts of their own home at the top of its prime in 2010. Those players are averaging betting around $18,000,000,000 and games and tournaments just online playing poker.

In 2010 the Washington Supreme Court upheld a law passed by the legislature making it a felony for anybody living in the United States to place a bet online. Last year in a Federal Court in New York City they shut down the biggest online poker sites including the website full tilt poker because they were stealing money and winnings from their players.

Online betting in the United States has fallen 83% since then because they do not want to have a felony on the record just placing a bet.

Lee Rousso use to love getting involved in a game online and used to play all the time, against the likes of Joseph Hachem and Phil Hellmuth. The best part of this is he was an attorney and trying to fight Washington law about online gambling soon lost at this level of the Supreme Court. According to his comments he doesn’t know a soul who will risk playing online anymore.

He said that he doesn’t understand the attraction and seems most that the fun is done because of the legality of gambling or placing a bet online for U.S. citizens. The only thing that he could think of is that they must like playing the game and that is why you have people betting all the time.

Online gambling is growing very fast outside the United States where is legal to own and operate the gambling website. Gigantic growth in parts of Asia made gambling online as popular as it is today. Other countries are starting to grow in popularity because of the online gambling websites you can go to especially in Europe.

Online poker fans in the US have to be patient. While the federal regulation of online poker is a impossible project, the state regulations also seems to have a trouble especially in the process, asking several states such as Mississippi, Hawaii and Iowa abandon approaches.
Even though no legislation strikes the protuberance of the intrastate rules, it seems that the procedure is too composite as well as too long to achieve. Only, the state of Nevada handled to carry out the long process and since last month this rule is official.

The Gaming Commission is planning the allowing of the 1st agreements. Probably, this success, is caused by the concept that the state relied on the profit from gambling to encourage its development and economy.

Nevada took an unequaled way that Iowa looked for to take as an example. The bill that allowed the online poker rules in the state of Nevada specified that the online poker operators who work with casinos that will have the right to work in the state. A theoretic, it is quite an effective path to save players and draw maximum benefits whatsoever for the operator of the casino or the state.

Still, another legislative chamber in the state of Iowa disputed the plan that was adopted in December that caused a stop of the transactions. At present, other American states like California and New Jersey are tempted to follow Nevada’s path.
